Clay sculpture, by using clay as raw materials, is to make clay into various human or animal shapes through hand-labor. The origin of the art can be traced back to New Stone Age, i. E. 4000- 10000 years before. In the 3rd century BC, it had become a sort of very important artwork. It needs careful selection of sticky, fine clay before sculpturing. After pounding, beating and kneading, sometimes additional cotton, paper scrapes and honey are required to turn clay into sculpture. The moulding of clay sculpture often consists of procedures such as shape-making, turn-over coping, bonding, polishing, dyeing, etc.
